Jon Kabat -Zinn, Ph D.  Molecular Biologist, Professor of Medicine, Director of The Stress Reduction Clinic and The Center of Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare, and Society at UMASS Medical School;  MBSR Program (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction); Author: Full Catastrophe Living; Mindful Parenting.  JKZ first created the MBSR program to help individuals suffering from chronic illness, chronic stress, and chronic pain.

Research, Acceptance, and Exploration….

The Medical World:  is appreciating the Mind-Body relationship and fostering participatory medicine, where the patient is not a passive recipient, but a real partner in healing. Mindfulness practice is well researched, scientifically proven, and now a common and respected form of integrative treatment.

Business Leaders:  (Google and other large corporations) are bringing Mindfulness to the workplace with Weekly Mindfulness Meetings, which are known to increase creativity and productivity.

Politicians:  Congressman Tim Ryan of Ohio advocates Mindfulness in healthcare, schools, and the military (particularly Veterans), policemen and women as well; author:  A Mindful Nation.

Education:  Focused programs:  Mindful Schools; Calmer Choice; Learn to Breathe; Mind Up; Inner Kids; Mind-Body Awareness Project for Incarcerated Youths, and many more developing in pockets across the country…
